Who it's for - and why it might be just the thing that you need

It’s been almost a year now that I’ve been co-producing THE VIBRATO BAR with North Shore Voices and Off Cabot. If you’ve been paying attention to this space, then you already know that the Vibrato Bar is the North's Shore's only classical karaoke bar. In my last post, I explained what exactly classical karaoke is. Today, I'm here to outline who it's for.
The Vibrato Bar is for ANYONE with any (even tangential) connection to classical music.
Yep, I said it.
Now, you might be thinking, “But Kim, how can that be? I’m not that good. I took classical voice lessons 35 years ago/just sing in my community chorus/haven’t landed a lead role yet/just bombed an audition yesterday.”
Well my friend, these thoughts speak to the larger question that most singers who were trained in the classical music industry are carrying - a question which is one of the very core reasons that led me to create the Vibrato Bar:
Am I good enough?
I am are here to tell you, unequivocally, YES.
At The Vibrato Bar, we are in the business of bringing classical singers together in a space where the pressure to be perfect can take a backseat. It’s a place to unwind, let go of the stress that comes with performing, and just enjoy singing with friends and fellow musicians. Here, we’re not focused on impressing anyone, and the “am-I-good-enoughs?” and the “shoulds” are checked at the door. It’s all about the joy of sharing music, supporting each other, and rediscovering why we fell in love with singing in the first place. You have to feel it to believe it -so this is my invitation to you to join us at the Bar. It’s the community that you didn’t know you needed and the experience singing that you didn’t know that you could have.
Keep making music. Your voice matters. I hope to hang out with you at the Vibrato Bar!
~Kim~
